Travel grants to visit annual meeting
For Young EPIZONE members, EPIZONE can supply ten travel grants of up to 750€ for young scientists to visit the EPIZONE annual meeting.
If you would like to receive a travel grant, an application letter should be sent to the EPIZONE administration office (epizone.bvr@wur.nl) that must include the following information:
- Your name
- Requested amount of money (with justification of costs)
- Estimated costs of the travel/visit of the meeting (you can use the grant for travel, but also for accommodation and/or registration fee)
- Ground for the application
And
- Must be undersigned by the head of the institute.
A young EPIZONE member is:- a PhD student- a postdoc or other within 5 years after getting the PhD degree- a beginning career scientist in the first 5 years of his/her career- working for an EPIZONE (associate) member institute
Applicants who have submitted an abstract will have a higher chance to be selected (the abstract can be submitted later than your application for the travel grant, but it will be checked if you submitted).
Deadline for application: June 30. Applicants will be informed about the decision before the early bird deadline for registration for the meeting (July 31st).
Important: The payment process has changed. The grant is a personal grant awarded directly to the applicant. You will receive the funds in your personal bank account through an online declaration system, in which you will be required to enter your personal details. This can be completed before the meeting or afterwards; however, attendance at the meeting will be verified. For any remaining budget requirements, you will need to make the necessary arrangements with your institute.
Note: Everybody who sends an application will get an email to confirm that the application was received properly. However, the administration office will be closed from March 13 until March 31, so confirmations will be sent from April 1st.
